History of Bellaire

Early Settlement: The area where Bellaire is situated was initially part of a Mexican land grant made to William Marsh Rice in the early 19th century. However, Rice never developed the land, eventually passing through several hands.

Founding of Bellaire: In 1908, William Wright Baldwin, a resident of nearby Westmoreland Farms, purchased a tract of land and along with other investors, established the community of Bellaire. The city was named after Baldwin’s hometown of Bellaire, Ohio.
